Hampshire Police and Portsmouth FC have confirmed that there will be enhanced security checks in place at Fratton Park on Thursday evening.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested after making bomb threats on Twitter ahead of Thursday night's League One playoff fixture between Portsmouth and Sunderland.
Hampshire Police released a statement on Thursday morning which said the man from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning and that he remains in custody.
